Cricket and India is a match made in heaven. While other sports are still struggling to offer a lucrative career to the aspiring talents, cricket has held its place for a few decades.
Cricketers in India are nothing short of worshipped figures and the inspiration for many young men and women. They enjoy unparalleled stardom with numerous brands waiting to find synergies. Also, the evolution and success of the Indian Premier League has fueled the endorsement game to the next level.
While all these factors make cricket a fancy career to go after, one needs to reach the very top before enjoying such benefits. There’s not much investment at the state level for the cricketers which is a serious case of concern for the players who fail to make it to the Indian team or the IPL.
We, at Matchday Sports and Entertainment are making slow but significant steps in this field. We are looking to develop the social media game of these talented state level cricketers and connect them to small scale or upcoming brands.
We recently powered one such collaboration between sports kitbag manufacturers Whackk and two of Bengal’s finest, Abhisek Das and Shreyan Chakraborty. The simple idea was to leverage the social media reach of the two players to promote Whackk’s products which are new and innovative.
